Holes

This is Pippa.

Pippa is a greyhound.

Greyhounds are large dogs.

Pippa digs holes in the garden.

Greyhound sized holes.

Bad Pippa.

Normal blogging will be resumed once I've filled the latest attempt to dig to China.

  1. Yikes! That would be a problem. We have varmints digging holes in our backyard--probably rabbits or gophers or chipmunks. I thought a dog would help, but maybe not! Good luck!

  2. Thanks for the comments.

It's the way she comes back into the house with a big, guilty grin on her face and mud on her paws that gets me. The deed is done by then - too late to tell her off. I need to catch her in the act.

I suspect she might be trying to build her own personal rabbit warren.

  3. Amusing post!

But then again, its not me who has to deal with the holes, or a muddy greyhound in the house!

She looks a lovely dog though, John.

  4. John, I'm really happy to have discovered your blog at Blotanical. I do a "Blog of the Month" feature on my blog, Jean's Garden, where I review and recommend garden blogs I think my readers might enjoy. I just wanted to let you know that your blog is one of three that I am highlighting this month. My post reviewing the blogs just went up, and they will also be featured on my sidebar throughout the month. Cheers. -Jean

  5. John, I caught your blog through Jean's post, and had to snicker at Pippa's destruction. I just wrote about my own dog-proofing ventures on my site. Good luck!

  7. Just to update this post, Pippa passed away in March 2016 at nearly 15 - a good age for any dog but greyhounds aren't just any dogs. Progressive neuropathy in her hind end was getting worse and I had to make the decision.

    Vale Pippa.
